So many beauty products, so little time. There are so many new beauty products out there, many seem like a bit of the same and some are actually worth trying out. Aside from the many that I’ve tried out (and have written about on the blog), here are just a few more that are on the top of my list to try out early in the new year.
1. Clarins ‘3-Dot Liner’ Eyeliner: For my daily look, I use a pen eyeliner (MAC ‘Penultimate’ Eye Liner) to merely thicken my lash line. This requires a very controlled and precise application to achieve a natural look. This Clarins eyeliner makes this even easier, with a dot applicator to fill in the spaces between the lashes.
2. DevaCurl ‘DevaTowel’ Microfiber Towel: Microfiber towels do wonders for curly hair girls like me. They have a smooth surface that helps to reduce frizz and absorb the right amount of water to define curls. I’ve been letting my natural curls loose more often lately so it’s time to include this towel in my routine.
3. Sephora Color IQ: It is quite challenging to find a foundation that matches the skin tone. Sephora has teamed up with the Pantone Color institute to build the Color IQ. A simple device scans your face to identify your “Color IQ” and the foundation that best meets your needs. I have not tried this out yet, but I’m almost out of my foundation and will head to Sephora in the next few weeks to test this out.
4. shu uemura lightbulb foundation: On the subject of foundations, I’m also very interested in the shu uemura lightbulb foundation coming out this coming February. There’s always a tradeoff between makeup coverage and the glow or smoothness of the skin. There are many times that I would like a full coverage foundation, but I just can’t stand the cakey look. This new full coverage foundation promises to maintain the natural skin glow and moisturize the skin. If it works as well as it sounds, you’ll definitely hear more about it on the blog.
